What is car subscription?
A Simplr. Car Subscription is the affordable alternative to owning or financing a vehicle. With all on-road costs included in your weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments, you can enjoy the flexibility of having a car without the commitment.
All Simplr. Subscription plans include the costs of registration, warranty, comprehensive insurance, servicing and roadside assistance.
No. There is no obligation to purchase the vehicle and the subscription payments do not contribute towards the price of the car.
Applying for a car subscription
Simplr. car subscription is far more accessible than other alternatives like car finance or lease arrangements. Even if you have poor credit history, it’s likely you can still be approved for a Simplr. car subscription membership.
We consider every application individually, but there are also some basic criteria that all subscribers need to meet:
- Hold a valid Australian (P2 or above) or equivalent international driver’s licence that has not been cancelled or suspended in the past 3 years;- Be at least 21 years old and not over 75 years old;
- Have at least 12 months driving experience;
- Not use any subscription vehicle for the purpose of operating a ridesharing service;
- Not have had any criminal, drink or drug driving convictions in the last 5 years;
- Not have made two or more motor insurance claims in the last 3 years.
When you apply for a Simplr. car subscription, an identity and credit check will be performed. The credit check is an enquiry that will only be visible to yourself and Simplr. It will not appear to other external agents. We may also request documents including utility bills, bank statements as part of our dedication to responsible spending.
Yes you can! As long as you hold an equivalent international driver’s licence and meet the remaining eligibility criteria.
You are permitted to drive on a Provisional Licence as long as you are over 21 years of age and meet the Simplr. eligibility criteria. Learner licence holders are not permitted to drive on a Simplr. car subscription.
Driving on subscription
Please ensure you list your subscription vehicle’s registration number onto your toll account. It is the subscriber’s responsibility to cover all costs incurred during the subscription term.
Routine servicing and maintenance is complimentary throughout your subscription at authorised service centres only. We will contact you when your vehicle is due for a complimentary safety check up or full servicing. If your vehicle needs attention before this, please call us on 1300 746 757 and Simplr. will book in a servicing appointment for you.
Every subscription vehicle comes with full roadside assistance 24/7 every day of the year. In the event of a breakdown or issue with your vehicle, simply call 1800 817 877, quote your vehicle's number plate and they will help you directly.
Accidents can happen, and we understand that.
Any damage that falls into the policy for “Fair wear and tear” will not be charged to you.
Any cost to repair that is above this will be submitted as an insurance claim and you will be responsible for your damage excess amount. Please contact Simplr. immediately to inform them of the damage and to arrange an inspection.
Full responsibility is with the subscriber for all costs incurred including excess.

Yes! All plans allow you to swap a vehicle for free after its 120-day minimum subscription term with at least 21 day written notice. For any vehicle swaps before its minimum term, there is a $550 early swap fee.
The minimum subscription period for all plans is 120 days and you are welcome to continue to subscribe for as long as you like. If you choose to swap or return your car before the minimum subscription period, then an early swap or return fee may apply. The minimum subscription term applies for each new vehicle subscribed.
Payments and charges
This depends on the plan and the car that you choose. The most affordable car on the Lite Plan starts from just $159 per week! You can check out what’s included in each Subscription Plan or you can browse our available vehicles here.
Each plan has its own weekly kilometre limit ranging from 200km-750km per week. However, you can always increase this weekly limit by adding a 200km Booster Pack for an additional $25 per week.
Yes! As long as they meet the same eligibility criteria, you can add up to 5 additional nominated drivers to your subscription for $10 per week, per driver. Only nominated drivers are covered by your Simplr. subscription insurance.
When you subscribe, you have the choice between weekly, fortnightly or monthly billing cycles. All payments are made in advance through your chosen payment method.
Cancellations and returns
All you have to do is send us an email to concierge@simplr.com and give at least 21 days written notice that you would like to return your vehicle.
An early return fee may apply if you choose to return the vehicle before the minimum 120-day subscription period or return the vehicle without giving the required 21 days written notice.
